My family loves homemade applesauce, it’s a staple in our home. I typically homemade applesauce on the stovetop but yesterday I whipped up a batch of Instant Pot applesauce and it was a hit! This applesauce is easy to make and absolutely delicious.

Homemade applesauce has more flavor than store-bought applesauce. We enjoy the texture of homemade applesauce as well, it is more smooth and less gritty. Instant Pot applesauce stores in the refrigerator for a week to 10 days so feel free to whip up a big batch.
Instant Pot Applesauce
Instant Pot applesauce is easy to make. You need apples and an Instant Pot, easy peasy! I used golden delicious and fuji apples for this batch of applesauce. McIntosh apples make tasty applesauce as well.
I chose organic apples. I buy organic because apples are at the very top of the Dirty Dozen list for being a highly contaminated crop. Organic apples taste better too!
There is a printable recipe at the bottom of this post if you are in a hurry. 🙂
First, you will core, peel, and chop 8 large apples and toss them into your Instant Pot.
Next, add a cup of water, ground cinnamon, and if you want to add sugar feel free although it really isn’t necessary. You can also add honey once the apples have cooked. Pour a cup of water and stir them up.
Then, put the lid on your pot and set the timer to cook at high pressure for 8 minutes. Once the timer beeps and cooking is complete let them sit for 4 minute before releasing the pressure.
Finally, decide if you want chunky or smooth applesauce. If you like chunky you can leave it as it is. If you prefer smooth I recommend using an immersion hand blender to achieve a nice consistency.
Enjoy it now…..
Or save it for later……
