These rolls have become a favorite in my family! You can cut them small for dinner rolls or large for sandwich buns. They are simply delicious!
I cheat and use a bread machine to mix and knead the dough. It really makes it much easier and frees up some time.
Here is what you need: 1 1/2 cups warm milk (I use almond milk), 1 egg (beaten), 2 tablespoons of butter, 1/4 cup local honey, 3/4 teaspoon salt, 2 3/4 bread flour, 1 cup whole wheat flour, 1 1/4 teaspoons bread machine yeast
Here is what you do: Place the ingredients in bread machine in the order recommended by manufacturer. Mine is liquids, dry items, then yeast. I set mine on the whole wheat large dough cycle.
When the dough cycle is done, turn the dough on a lightly floured surface and roll out 3/4 inch thick. Cut rolls to desired diameter. Place on lightly greased cookie sheets; cover with damp cloth and let rise about 1 hour.
Bake in preheated oven for 15 minutes. I often brush my freshly baked rolls with melted butter.
Enjoy!
