Homemade Kombucha Aloe Facial Toner

Kombucha Aloe Face Toner

Get ready to ditch your store-bought facial toner!    In just a few moments I whipped up a homemade facial toner that has provided me with rather quick gratification.

This homemade (organic) kombucha aloe facial toner has worked wonders for my skin.  Since using this toner I notice that my skin is smoother, there is a reduction in discoloration, and a few of the  fine lines have left the corners of my eyes.  This  amazing homemade facial toner using kombucha, aloe, vitamin e, and a few essential oils (you can skip to the bottom of this post for a printable recipe) is easy to make and easy to use.

Kombucha Aloe Facial Toner

I have been using ACV (apple cider vinegar) and water as a facial toner for quite a while.  Recently I felt that my (aging) skin needed more.  I was working on a new batch of kombucha and wondered if this fermented goodness in a jar would be beneficial for my skin.  I hurried to the computer and upon a quick check discovered that yes, kombucha has great benefits for skin.

Kombucha not only detoxifies, but also hydrates the skin as it improves skin elasticity. Kombucha improves skin tone, texture and clarity as it brightens the skin. Finally, kombucha as an active ingredient also combats the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines.        -an emerginC representative via Huffington Post

I paired my new homemade toner with aloe.  Aloe leaves contain a plethora of antioxidants including, beta carotene, vitamin C and E that can help improve the skin’s natural firmness and keep the skin hydrated.  Aloe can also be used to heal chronic skin problems, such as psoriasis, acne and eczema.  I felt that aloe was a great pair for my homemade toner because of its ability to heal, reduce skin inflammation, and fight aging.  You can use  aloe vera juice or aloe vera serum when making this toner.

I also wanted to incorporate essential oils in my homemade  facial toner.   You can choose whatever essential oils that work for your skin.  I chose frankincense and lavender essential oils.  If you are not sure which oils to use hop over to Body Unburdened for help.

Frankincense is a natural toner, decreasing the appearance of pores and evening skin-tone. It is cytophylactic, which means that it helps protect existing cells and encourage new cell growth. For this reason, it helps reduce wrinkles, tighten skin, and reduce the appearance of scars. It also helps soothe chapped, dry skin.

Lavender helps lighten the appearance of age spots and scars. It is helps regenerate skin cells so is great for mature skin, sun spots, and scarring. Another great oil for all skin types and needs.         –body unburdened.com

I also add a few drops of vitamin E oil.  Vitamin E is a strong antioxidant that prevents premature aging.  It supports new skin cell growth and speeds up cell regeneration.  So, why not add a few drops?!?

I can’t wait to give this a try. I’ve been wanting to make something with these exact same ingredients and I’m so happy to see that you’ve been making and using it with good results.

Can’t wait to give this a try. Are you still making and using this with good results?

How long does it keep fresh?
