We tend to homeschool year round and actually get more school stuff accomplished in the summer. The summer is perfect for staying inside and tackling new ideas and interests because summer is HOT here in Florida. Another reason to spend time at home during the summer months is that places are crowded when the schools are out of session…parks, playgrounds, museums….forget about it! However, when the kids head back to school it is time for us to have a bit of not back to school fun!
Most kids headed back to school this August so it was only right for us to celebrate with a whole bunch of NOT back to school fun! It was August so much of this fun was had inside or near the water….still way better than a classroom (for us).
A bit of not back to school arcade fun with friends.
Audrey started joining in at homeschool art & pe, Ava enjoys art, while Alex hangs out.
Breakfast at the beach always starts the day out right.
I got busy in the kitchen preparing for our local Natural Parenting fair. Infusing oil for boo boo salve….
The kids enjoyed this more! Homemade chocolate sauce & whipped cream to put on their homemade ice cream….yummmmm.
Trips to Disney are always fun too! Later in the day or early morning is best this time of year…
Animal Kingdom is always a blast!
The Lion King performance is our favorite and the girls were beyond thrilled to be a part of it!
We decided last-minute that a trip to Georgia would be fun. Having fun on the farm is always a great decision!
He is a great driver!
And then just like that back home and time to get back into our groove. This is our most favorite park….
This dude got glasses so I guess it must be about time to hit the books! 😉
Our not back to school month was pretty awesome but that seems to be a consistent theme for these posts. Fun, living, learning all with love.
